DIOCESE OF LEEDS PILGRIMAGE TO WALSINGHAM
Prayer to be used on Saturday 26th or Sunday 27th September 2015

O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Mother of Unfailing Help, you chose to make yourself known in Walsingham. We join with Marcus our Bishop and those from our Diocese on pilgrimage to your holy shrine to recall the moment when you said, "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; whatever is His will for me, I accept".

With renewed gratitude for the unfailing help of your maternal intercession we unite our voices with those of all the generations who call you blessed.

We celebrate in you the great works of God, who never tires of looking down with mercy upon humanity, afflicted by evil and wounded by sin, to heal it and save it.

Accept as our compassionate Mother this act of consecration, by which we entrust to your unfailing help our Diocese of Leeds and all its clergy and faithful, before the image of you that is so dear to us and to the Catholic faithful of England.

We are certain that each one of us is precious in your eyes and that, as our most loving and caring Mother, you know all that dwells in our hearts.

Intercede for us, that we who are servants of the Lord, also like you may know His will and accept it in our lives.

Let us know the loving kindness of your maternal gaze and receive the consolation of your constant intercession.

Like your Son, whom you held safe in your arms, hold our lives and the future of our Diocese in your embrace: bless and increase every good desire; revive and increase faith; sustain and enlighten hope; rekindle and strengthen charity; guide us all along the path of holiness.

Teach us we pray, your own preferential love for the poor and the vulnerable, for the sick and those who suffer, for sinners and those who are downhearted: gather all under your protection and entrust everyone to your beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ who alone is the Way, the Truth, the Life and the only Saviour of the World.

Amen.
